Dr Varney was born in Allentown, PA and moved to Tucson just after she finished kindergarten. She attended University High School, and then obtained her B.S in Biology from Arizona State University’s Honors College (now known as the Barrett’s Honors College). She then was accepted at Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biological Sciences and moved north to Fort Collins, Colorado. After four great years in Veterinary School it was time to go out in the real world! Dr Varney moved back to Arizona and completed a one year internship at Mesa Veterinary Hospital (now the Animal Referral and Emergency Center of Arizona). Since then she has been in general practice in Mesa and Fountain Hills. Her practice interests include anything and everything pertaining to cats, pain management, dentistry and regenerative medicine (stem cell therapy). She has been happily married since 2006 to a middle school art teacher. They share their home with three cats: a domestic short hair named Flip, a Cornish Rex named Louie, and a La Perm named Banksy, and two dogs: a beloved German Shepherd mix Audrey and a sweet Pit Bull Lakota (aka Poodle). When not at work you can find her cooking or reading. |
